It was the youngest inovlement of CTI students in a bake sale. Grade 4 students, under the supervision of Miss Latife Yaghi, and in conjunction with their PYP program, organized this charity event. The students participated whole-heartedly and by the end of the noon break, grade 4 was sold out. The money raised was donated to an orphanage in a proper ceremony where the monetary contributions and the conversations in proper Arabic were given in equal measure.

Grade 1 A and B, along with their teacher Ms Diana Blati, had a PYP planting activity. The budding scientists of grade 1 are now awaiting the germination of the seeds they planted.

The IB2 students spent Saturday at school, monitoring chemistry experiments with their teacher Mr Kamal Ramadan. In the midst of scientific paraphernalia, chemicals and heated compounds, the students tested for several substances.

IB1 presented the iconic CTI talent show, as a CAS experience! The audience was treated to diverse offerings ranging from piano playing, to singing, to acting, dancing and sports. One thing for sure: CTI students are talented!

Mr. Jean Baghboudarian, IB Coordinator at CTI, attended an important IB meeting, and he reports:

Attached you can find the group photo of the meeting that took place in IC on December 19, 2024, in the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Bahia El Hariri and Mr. Imad Ashkar, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Additionally, Mrs. Mary Tadros, IB Development and Recognition Senior Manager, and Mr. Pascal Ashkar, IB World School Manager, joined us virtually.

The meeting was important as it reunited us in person after the many challenges we have endured and continue to face in our country. It also included Directors and Programme Coordinators of IB candidate schools, including those from the 12 public schools involved in the PYP project. Together, we had the opportunity to welcome them into the network and explore ways to advance collaboratively as one resilient community.

In a full-day open house, the CTI teachers hosted the parents of kindergarten and grade school. The teachers discussed the progress of the students with their parents. It was a very beneficial collaboration between the parents and CTI, as exemplified by PYP standards.

The students of grade 5 A and B, led by their teacher Ms Rosie Melhem, organized an event involving the PYP theme they are covering. The students were divided into different groups with stations representing cultures from around the world. The students hosted their parents, and each group shared about their choice of country. The students explained, sang, danced, exhibited paraphernalia, and were generous in their food offerings.

As a CAS experience, IB1 students organized a donation drive in order to collect clothing and food for displaced people. Currently there are around 1,200,000 displaced persons in Lebanon. IB1 students hope that their donations will not be a drop in the bucket, but will cause ripple effects. The collected material will soon be donated to an NGO who will distribute as needed.

100% passing rate for our IB students!

We are thrilled to announce that our International Baccalaureate (IB) students had a 100% passing rate in the official exams. Such a result is a testament to the hard work, dedication and resilience of the students.We extend our hearfelt congratulations to our students for their outstanding performance, as well as congratulations to the teachers and parents for their unwavering support.

This success reflects the strength of CTI's academic program and the commitment of our entire school community to excellence. We are proud of our students and expect an illustrious future for them.

After two years of preparation, the IB2 students had their [international] final exams. They are done now. Their joy is partly because they have done well, and partly because it is over! 

Well done, IB2! 

IB1 and IB2 students, along with grade 12 students, are organizing a movie screening for grade school, as part of a CAS experience.

Mr Banna Chaar, PYP coordinator at CTI, is organizing PYP orientation sessions for the parents of kindergarten and grade school. The meetings are very fruitful, and the parents get pertinent information and collaborate in sample PYP activities.

The IB1 students presented a pot-pourri of Rahbani songs, sketches and dances. This was part of their CAS experiences. The presentation was superb, and we present pictures and more details in the Gallery section or Facebook.

The IB1 students organized a CAS experience in the form of "CTI Got Talent". It was an exhilarating event and both the performers and the organizers are to be commended. Kindly refer to the Gallery section for pictures of the event.

The teachers of kindergarten and grades 1 to 6 attended workshops organized by the International Baccalaureate organization, as part of PYP (Primary Years Program) candidacy. The teachers had a greatly profitable time, and CTI thanks the moderators of the workshops.

While on a CAS experience,  some IB1 students encountered members of a famous basketball team, and took this souvenir picture that we share with you!

As a CAS esperience, the students of IB1 were a vital part of the CTI Patriotic Week. They prepared special candy and got involved with grade school and kindergarten students. They even engaged the teachers and principal in their activities.

The teachers involved in the upcoming IB Primary Years Program (PYP) have constant collaborative meetings and orientation sessions, Our roving photographer took this souvenir shot!

The IB2 students are preparing a TOK exhibition on Friday, October 20, 2023. The exhibition is open to the public at 1:00 - 2:30. This is an open invitation. We hope to see you!

Ms Gemma Fattouch, admission advisor at the American University of Beirut (AUB), was guest of grade 12 and IB2. She led an orientation session about college education and AUB requirements. It was a profitable session, and the students thank her for coming.

Flights and Floats is an astounding production, presented by the IB1 students of Mr Samer Hanna's theatre class. The play was written, directed, performed, designed and organized by the students. It was a tremendous undertaking, and we cannot thank the protagonists enough.

The IB students are preparing for a major TOK exhibition to be presented early next year. For that purpose, the students presented a mock exhibition that was both admired and critiqued by teachers and fellow students. The exhibits were amazing, and the IB students are to be commended for their work. Special thanks goes to Mrs Hourig Kevorkian for supervising this event.

The TOK students, along with some of their teachers, went to another IB World School in order to attend their project exhibition. It was a good interactive time, and the students got to discuss matters related to TOK.

The Principal and IB Coordinator at CTI organized a meeting for parents of prospective IB students of grade 10. It was a fruitful session, rounded with an extensive Q and A session. 

Art is the topic of the TOK students. On Friday, March 10, 2023, it was the turn of Rachel Skaff and Jason Chahwan to give their presentations, and it was an awesome session. A few pictures are given in the Gallery section!

Mr Jean Baghboudarian, IB coordinator at CTI, addressed a group of grade 10 students in order to discuss further IB prospects. The session was fruitful, and it will engender further discussion! A souvenir picture!

The CTI chess club has been revived, and a group of intellectual students meet periodically for chess games. The club is led by and is the brain child of Rami Zakka, as a major IB CAS experience. For pictures, refer to the Gallery section, please!

A group of IB students volunteered to usher parents and guests during the CTI Christmas musical. They performed their job to perfection, and CTI thanks these students! 

The IB1 students launched a major recycling project, as their latest CAS experience. The whole school is involved, and the students willingly complied!

Mr Charbel Abi Nader, studio art consultant, was guest evaluator in Mr Samer Hanna's theater class projects. We hear that the presentations were excellent, and that Mr Abi Nader was impressed with the IB students. Keep it up!

The class of IB1 shared with other students their experience with the International Baccalaureate. The students chose to sit on the edge of the stage, and their presentation was informative and informal. The event was organized by the IB coordinator at CTI, Mr Jean Baghboudarian.

The grade 10 students had the first of a series of workshops on majors, universities, the IB, and grade 11 options. The students had been already introduced to the IB program last year. This time around students have to make tentative decisions regarding choice of track next year and college majors.

There was a serious convention, with serious students, around a serious looking round table. The IB1 students were delegates from different African countries, discussing Agenda 2063: "The Africa we Need". This African Union mock simulation was done in Mr Joe Rachid's English class. We are happy to announce that we have a full class of excited IBDP year 1 students. We welcome some new teachers to add to our roster of great teachers. Students and teachers communicated during the summer vacation. We have amply secured the necessary material for instruction. What is left is for school to start!

The IB DP teachers will convene for a workshop, and for trading ideas, on Thursday, July 14, 2022. There will be a guest who will discuss salient items with our teachers. 

Mr Pascal Ashkar, IB World School manager, visited CTI today. He met with the principal, then the administration and IB teachers. He congratulated CTI on becoming an IB World School and was pleased with the prospects for next school year. The purpose of his visit was to address teacher queries and give timely suggestions. CTI thanks Mr Ashkar for his visit, and is looking forward to fruitful cooperation in the coming years.

The IB organization will be visiting CTI vitually on Thursday and Friday, February 24 and 25, 2022. We are happy to host them for these two day, and we are looking forward to the visit!

As part of ongoing IB orientation sessions at CTI, grade 9 met in the school auditorium and were seated distanced from each other. They   had a recap presentation about the IBDP, followed by a Q & A session. The students showed great interest, and the workshop was greatly profitable. CTI has reached the authorization stage and is getting ready to register students in Spring for the diploma program..

The first IB student meeting of the year was for grade 10, and was held on October 1, 2021. This orientation meeting was informative, involving a short lecture followed by a Q and A session. Despite the facial masks and the social distancing, the workshop was successful and it set the students thinking about the prospects of joining the IBDP next school year.
